Madagascar is world famous for its unique flora and fauna. But the beauty of this Island faces a myriad of problems. Due to poverty, the Malagasy people cut down trees and also hunt unique animal species to be able to fend for their families. Justin and a group of conservationists are eager to reach out to the communities and sensitise them about the need for conservation.

The number of landmines buried in Africa alone is in millions. The explosive remnants maim and kill those who stumble on them. In order to curb this problem and provide a safe solution, APOPO, a non-profit organization in Tanzania, train local rats to detect landmines. They are also used in hospitals to cross-check samples to detect tuberculosis. The trained African Giant Poached Rats have saved many lives hence their nick-name, the Hero Rats.

Zambia's natural forests are declining at an alarming rate. The impoverished population cut down the trees in order to for firewood and coal, to sustain their families. Lloyd Maanyina, a former charcoal burner, confesses to contributing greatly to deforestation. He's a reformed conservationist and he's now working hard to plant trees by himself and alongside environmental organizations. He considers this, his payback to nature.
