I recommend you watch it when you have exhausted your series of interest.

I watched the series on WeTV, because I didn't know about RTV at that time. This series has a very good story. I watched each episode very relaxed and with interest, until I reached the end. Here everything became a mess and the way it ended was like a blow under the belt. Because of the ending I would have given a 6 or 7, but since I really liked the actors and the relationship between Xu Kai Cheng and Yang Chaoyue, as well as the story, I gave it an 8.

Enjoyable

I totally enjoyed it and become a fan of Xu Kai Cheng. He is so cute - the chemistry was good and the overall drama enjoyable. Great watch. Overall 8/10 rating for me. It would have scored a higher rating if: The ending storyline could have been executed better in my opinion - not by the actors per se, but by the writers and producers.

Wanting More!!

This drama show was amazing, the script, actors, costume, CGI and the pace was just right so as not to become boring. It was thoroughly enjoyable so I have seen it more than once which is a rarity. Frequently, I have noticed that others will try to explain the ending but what is there to explain. It obviously has not ended no matter how people try to close it up. Questions have been left unanswered. When you sew you use thread and tie a knot so that it does not unravel all the work doneThe story has left me hanging, loose threads stlll unfinished.

For those who wish to watch I believe you will not be disappointed it is thrilling, romantic, adventurous and it has good fight scenes. Just think of this as season 1.

The worst part is that there is still no news regarding if there will be a sequel even in 2023.l So I would like to see a sequel and soon please.

The Cinematography Actually Surprised Me

Warning: Spoilers
Honestly, I don't have high expectations with Chinese drama cinematography. However, what they lack, some dramas make up for it with the flow of the story, and Dance of the Phoenix is one of those.

The drama, although short, is very engaging. It is a bonus that I wait for the appearance of Wang Haoxuan/Vardy Wang (actor who played Xue Yang in The Untamed) in each episode since he's the only actor I know there but eventually I've grown to like all the characters.

It only means one thing: The producer and scriptwriter are good at their jobs in making people actually interested with the characters that make up most of the drama.

The cinematography is honestly smoother than The Untamed but this is a newer drama which was filmed in 2019 so there is definitely improvement in the editing since then.

Just give it a try. It has an interesting story worth watching.
