The Cinematography Actually Surprised Me
16 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Honestly, I don't have high expectations with Chinese drama cinematography. However, what they lack, some dramas make up for it with the flow of the story, and Dance of the Phoenix is one of those.

The drama, although short, is very engaging. It is a bonus that I wait for the appearance of Wang Haoxuan/Vardy Wang (actor who played Xue Yang in The Untamed) in each episode since he's the only actor I know there but eventually I've grown to like all the characters.

It only means one thing: The producer and scriptwriter are good at their jobs in making people actually interested with the characters that make up most of the drama.

The cinematography is honestly smoother than The Untamed but this is a newer drama which was filmed in 2019 so there is definitely improvement in the editing since then.

Just give it a try. It has an interesting story worth watching.
