Aran Tori covers a wide variety of provocateurs in the far right exposing their underlying message of hate and creation of 'the other'. There were many instances Aran looked uncomfortable but wasn't discouraged by the nationalists putting him down. The people he meets are both fascinating to learn about and nasty human beings. I like the balance of anti-fascist campaigners in the film which doesn't just give the ultra nationalists a platform to spew their hate filled propaganda and presents a counter approach for people like Ivan Humble who were in the far right and Darren Carroll, Tommy Robinson's uncle who has turned a new leaf after his EDL days. Easy to watch, Aran Tori's simple approach makes the fascists expose themselves. Entertaining narrative, presenting crucial information showing extremists fuelling the fire.

Outlandish Characters. Excellent exposure
juliano_k5 November 2019
A variety of far right figures from different ends of the fascist spectrum, from the casual anti-immigrant to neo-nazi. The film reminded me of Louis Theroux's earliar work. Aran Tori encounters outspoken and somewhat outlandish characters. More than anything you can see how attitudes of the far right are shaped and how their extreme ideas are reflected in their personality. Excellent exposure on ultra nationalists. Aran Tori' s journey into this sub culture is intriguing. Good job Mr Tori!

Great timing and really informative.

Finally a documentary worth watching on the far right nd great time for it. It's not all about bash the fasch(ists) as we constantly see the far right being portrayed in the corporate media in an alienated way. The presenter's approach is empathetic allowing one to understand how the far right works and their spin on current events. The different levels of nationalism you see are really informative, from White supremacy to mainstream nationalism.
A really pressing subject matter which prime minister Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage need to to watch to know where their ugly support mob is coming from - These bigoted nationalists. The film is lively with a colourful narrative and presenter's honourable engagement. Some parts in the interview the camera work could have worked better so one mark of for that but otherwise thoroughly enjoyed the documentary!

An important topic, but a deeply flawed documentary.

I'm sorry Mr. Tori if this review will hurt. I know you did your best.
I consider myself to be, broadly speaking, politically progressive. I am a foreigner who moved to britain specifically because of its internationalism, intellect, and openness. The recent renaissance of a paleoconservative ultranationalist regressive right in Britain is deeply troubling.
One way to expose interview subject with repulsive and poorly thought through views, is to give them just enough rope to hang themselves with. And, indeed, this documentary is at its best when Tori interviews the dim bulbs of the foul mouthed working class anti-islam campaigner and that delusional american-accented fool living in liverpool. To most viewers with an open mind,it becomes quite clear that those two have nothing to offer.
However, when dealing with other subjects, many of whom (like the woman leader and the student with the mussolini t-shirts), the documentary falls utterly flat. The woman and the student present narratives and worldviews that are internally consistent and carefully phrased. Mr. Tori, utterly unprepared and perhaps even a bit overmatched without realizing it, too often resorts to irrelevancies and labels instead of providing an actual response. For example, by way of "rebuttal" to the student's ultimately deluded but broadly internally consistent worldview, Mr. Tori speculates if the student is being used by dark forces. That's not a rebuttal, Mr. Tori - it just advertises that you had no real response. At other times, Mr. Tori seems to think that simply attaching the "r-word" label to somebody's views will be a sufficient counterargument. It's not.
And that's really the danger of today's new ultrarightists - the more sophisticated of them (including richard spencer) present a tale that has a real internal logic to it. Some of what they bring up are real issues that some of the worst "rebutters" on the left ignore or misconstrue. Responding to today's ultrarightists means understanding their arguments and picking them apart with the same careful language that they have used in constructing them. When the rebuttals fail because of unpreparedness or failure to really address the rightists issues, it attracts more people to the nationalists' cause.
Mr Tori is a very, very brave man for doing this documentary. It is important work. I am sure it was done on a shoestring budget. It is a pity that he let the more clever of his subjects effectively get the best of him.

Raw Adventurous film
AntonioRamosa2 December 2019
Incredible. Adventurous film with raw interviews. Film is fascinating. Far Right/ White Power/Nationalism/Patriotism, what ever you want to call it has crept in our capitals, our countries, sadly our world. While I am angry with this because my own country of Brazil descended into the hands of a fascist far right leader, I think the best way to confront them is to let them expose themselves as they have in this film and present themselves as complete ignorant ego driven fools. The gentleman Aran Tori did a very descent job. The documentary also opened my eyes to youngsters being groomed by the hateful far right/alr-right. The Nazi youth leader who is Leeds university student gave me a chill.
Huge Issues
mattybboy28 January 2020
It strikes me as very one sided. And before everyone kicks off I'm atheist.
I would have liked to see opinions from both viewpoints and a balanced journalistic approach.
I don't feel that it is neutral in its reporting or represents true journalism without judgement.
I do feel that this documentary is one that is not going to be ground breaking.

Very insightful and entertaining
sallyjohnson-7748516 November 2019
Puts Britain's far right in context. Very insightful and entertaining with comedic moments from the nationalists' views. Watch out for the two bafoons Jack Sen, always getting kicked out of nationalist groups for being too extreme and Paul Pitt, a thug looking for an excuse to go to war.
Alarming and informative
Jannice_t12 November 2019
Alarmed by the casual fascism of people like Paul Pitt white race advocate and Anne Marie Waters - her political party is a danger to democracy and liberalism. This film has brought a lot to light. Tommy Robinson's weaselling through the film is a good symbolism of his nature and what he stands for - con artist and exploiter. Not surprised his family has turned against him, very sad. Jack Sen is a joker in this and the presenter does a good job of casually exposing him.
Hits the nail on the head about far right
kyliekat-840107 November 2019
This documentary hits the nail on the head about the far right in Britain. Applaud Aran Tori for meeting some dangerous people. Can't believe far right bigots continue to label 'hate speech' as 'freedom of speech'. It's funny how the nationalist immigrant haters all warm up to Aran, he's charming. Lol.
Everyone needs to see this!
ashlee_orangelange11 November 2019
Really deserves a watch - people need to see what's in the mind of these vicious people causing divisions in Britain. The mood of the film balances the subject matter well with it's light hearted tone.
The film puts the far right into context, from white supremacy to mainstream nationalism. The extreme nationalists call their hate and aggression 'freedom of speech'!

Brilliant coverage of Nationalists
MarcoRealDeal27 November 2019
This is a brilliant coverage of nationalists in Britain. You see all the main players MANIPULATING people's minds. It's so relevant to what's going on now with the clownish prime minister Boris Johnson drawing in the far right.
Watching this is crucial. In fact watch this first, then the Joker movie played by Joaquin Phoenix. Then you'll be alarmed about right wing extremists going to the theatre to watch the Joker!

Top Documentary

There are so many interesting instances in the film. The countryside with White Supremist Paul Pitt foreseeing civil war, Tommy Robinson and his supporters at Hyde Park Speakers Corner, playing pool with the Nazi Leeds student, far right FLA protest in Birmingham and at in the home of the extreme nationalist leader Anne Marie Waters. Intriguing and fun to watch. The film brings to light the different perspectives of fascism.
Refreshing and great reporting
thewylerone26 November 2019
As a British Jew I feel ashamed to see these outdated minded fascists are growing again in MY country. Jack Sen made me mad when he said "Jews aren't British". He wants all Jews to go to Israel!! Anne Marie Waters made me even more mad stereotyping Muslims. Anne Marie Waters is like a female Hitler. She wants Muslims in concentration camps. Racism is being normalised by these so called "patriots", "nationalists" or "race realist" loonies.
While the documentary is raw and humanises far right extremists it allows the idiocy and racism to unveil itself. Aran Tori's character is funny, he charms the fascists who mistrust him at first but then they warm up to him. Great reporting and a thought provoking programme.

Addressing a variety of issues
CassieCage11 December 2019
The documentary touched on a variety of issues important and relevant to today's current affairs. The engagement with the nationalists was calm but a few moments were tense and the presenter handled it well. Good drama seeing the true colours of the far right and the storytelling was intriguing. A really enjoyable programme to watch and I found the presenter's journalistic take impartial and really honest.
So engaging with nationalists

Intriguing insight
paulaljay12 December 2019
Paul Pitt is a classic Nazi in this. Aran Tori's journey across UK gives an intriguing insight into nationalist movements. He explores the issues and doesn't impose anything on the people he interviews. His discussion is a healthy one, very light hearted and the commentary in the film is very relevant to what's going on with today's dangerous politics. Let's hope this divisive politics doesn't gain strength. Tommy Robinson is calling for Whites to resist what he's calling: the "great replacement" and Boris Johnson is using people like him as his working class pawns!
Great watch, gets behind the bigotry.
orangewoolyhat4 April 2020
Aran Tori does well to get behind the bigotry of the far right. This is a good study of how far right movements are gaining momentum, using their facade of freedom of speech. Just like Oswalkd Mosley did years ago, blaming the Jews, today the blame is on Muslims although the hidden hatred of Jews still runs deep, as seen from Jack Sen. The film pieces together a variety of fascist influencers from the extreme to the mainstream. The message of hope and change was heartwarming. The presenter's curious fascination makes it a great watch!
Sincere presenting.

"If you don't like it, dont live here.".
ningrealm17 November 2019
"If you don't like it, don't live here." Anne Marie Waters. This film shows Ann Marie Waters vicious crusade and Paul Pitts justification for the murder of British MP Jo Cox. Aran Tori does a good job of getting behind the thought process of the far right.
Exceptional documentary. Exceptional ending.
