When I watched this I was wondering what was going on, who were these characters and where was grey. It looks so different and was at such a different pace I almost gave up, but once I got over the hump it all fell into place. This represents three story arc's, separate by time, interweaved together to provide you with the backstory of the main character. Not my favourite episode, but acceptable.
I now think episode zero was created because this episode was no unlike the subsequent episodes. If so then it worked as I would not have watched this series if this was the first episode I watched.
