The second series of The Black Arrow is not based on the story by Robert Louis Stevenson.
That was done and dusted in series one.
So the second series tries to be in the same vein but with an original story. So the first episode is about the set up and frankly takes its merry old time.
Richard Shelton is reputed to be dead. There is a stranger going about claiming to have leprosy. Is he going to turn out to be the absent Richard Shelton?
In the meantime Will Lawless becomes a loyal defender of the Yorkie Richard Crookback, King Richard III against the Lancastrians. The one he loves Megs (Sally James) has been taken for questioning by the dastardly Brock.
A starchy and rather slow opening episode.
