"Peter Parker Takes His Driving Test" is a relatively long title for this really short film that stays under the 150-second mark, which means it does not even run for 2.5 minutes. No writer or director listed here on imdb, actually not even the name of the co-lead actor as this one here is all about Tim Holland, who is after Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield the most recent and current Spider Man. Well I do love Spidey, but I would not say I am a fan of Holland and this 2017 short film we got here sure won't change that. On the contrary, I found it baffling really how mediocre his acting is. I mean Maguire is not exactly lauded for great range either, but he is miles ahead of Holland. Now I should actually be more precise and take a closer look at this movie. Movie? I read this is an Audi car commercial. Oh well, there is nothing that explains why Audi, it could have been for any other car manufacturer honestly and the outcome would have been the same. Disappointing too. The only fun aspect here was really the Black guy who took Parker's test. But even he had to act himself through bad writing as he seems so aware usually, but does not realize for a long time that Parker is not in the car anymore and instead busy taking care of a pair of bank robbers outside. And well yeah that had to happen from a reslistic perspective? Well, I suppose they somehow wanted to get Spider Man in and not just his human alter ego. Of course with the newest Avengers film, this short gets some more attention too, but I don't think it is worth seeing and 2 out of 5 is still pretty generous. Only watch if you are (for whatever reason) a very big Tim Holland fan. I give it a thumbs-down. Not recommended. I smiled a bit in the first 20 seconds or so with the grumpy teacher and also the Parker Peter thingey wasn't too shabby. But as soon as the action moves into the car, it all goes downhill. No pun intended. Watch something else instead!
