The show says goodbye to Adam
mattiasflgrtll614 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Brian suggests that to honor Mayor West, the James Woods High school should be renamed Adam West High. After the ceremonious event, Carol also suggests that Brian should be mayor, which he's happy to run for as long as there's no opposition. But when Quagmire shows up, things start going south...

What made this episode work were first and foremost the jokes. I chuckled at Peter's video tribute to Adam West gradually turning into more and more about his basketball tricks. The cat launcher squad firing away cats as a reference to Adam's classic cat launcher was cute. Principal Shepherd got some time to shine at the start as well. It was hilarious when he got chased by a mob and then randomly turned into a superhero and flew away on a cloudy surfboard. Brian not caring about Stewie not giving him the slightest bit of support was pretty funny. After Quagmire starts running for mayor, I laughed at when he tricked Brian not only to go without a tie, but guaranteeing he doesn't need to bring pizzas to hand out to the crowd. The fact that he brought up pizza at all should've made him at least a little bit suspicious.

Later on, Brian reluctantly starts traveling with Quagmire on a bus. They get into a fight of course, and the driver is knocked dead and the bus crashes and ends up on the edge of a cliff. I always love when the show throws the characters into a scenario where they are stuck in an impossible situation and have to use strategic thinking to survive. It was genuinely suspenseful when it got more and more dangerous. But there were still some pretty amusing dialogue too, like Quagmire failing to get the bus driver's name right, Brian and Quagmire discussing the pancake benefits of being a mayor and the repertoire with Quagmire's radio correspondent Melissa.

The funniest part is near the ending when Brian crashes Quagmire's pool party and he's ready to do the cannonball, only to be reminded he doesn't have a swimming pool and falls hard down.

While the jokes are generally strong however, the plot feels a bit halfbaked. We don't see as much of Brian and Quagmire running against each other in the election as I thought, instead there's only the debate scene and then straight to the bus. Maybe they were worried it would be too similiar to Running Mates or It Takes A Village Idiot, And I Married One, but it still felt underwhelming. And one joke that didn't land was the bit riffing on Sean Hannity. It went on for too long and the burns weren't really that clever. I was also looking forward to seeing who the new mayor would be, but in the end we didn't get one at all, which was disappointing. Oh well, maybe next season.

Not as epic of a finale as I might've expected, but still a very good ending to the season. The show will thrive on, but West will always be missed.

Decent Season Finale
DrMaxLaugh13 May 2019
This episode had a good plot but the jokes were very mediocre (usually it's the other way around). In particular, the scene with the celebrity pictures seemed extremely uninspired, and the characters sounded bored throughout the whole thing. The tribute to Adam West was touching, and Brian and Quagmire had some nice scenes. Overall, kinda underwhelming for a season finale.

Never fails to make me laugh!

I found this episode pretty good. Maybe not as funny as usually but entertaining in other ways.

It seems to me like people are hating on the newer seasons just for the sake of it and the same thing is happening with many other shows too. Yes I miss the dirty humour of early Family Guy a lot but the times have changed and in my opinion the writers have made up for it pretty well in other areas.

Millennials are hating on everything nowadays just because they think it's cool, but when all the good shows get cancelled due to bad ratings or low views you only have yourselves to blame.

Looking forward to season 18!

Very critical, political, and topical. RIP Adam West. You'll be forever missed. Can't wait for season 18 Family Guy.

Adam West High

Warning: Spoilers
Given his public political affiliation I was wondering when the show would finally split with James Woods. Putting Adam West's name on the high school is a good tribute I guess.

Not the funniest episode, but a few good moments here and there. Brian and Quagmire always bring out the best in each other.

Show now sucks as much as the Simpsons Warning: Spoilers
I loved this show, but lately it's really gone downhill. The only thing good was the last 10 seconds; otherwise it sucked.

Great tribute 2 years after death !!!
Mtyson819 May 2019
Adam West died in June of 2017, 2 years ago. Now that James Woods has become a conservative political figure the decide to do a tribute to Adam. This season seem to be middle of the road politics. They have had a few episodes that are straight liberal. It does suck, because I am a fan. I will keep watching because I don't stop watching because of things I don't agree with. Let's see where this goes. Hopefully the creators will go back to family guy and get away from the new trend of craziness.

A Decent Episode, which automatically makes it the season's best
hermesv-4174013 May 2019
The episode had a decently funny 1st act but after that it became incredibly boring. The last scene with Adam definitely was the best moment of the episode and was really emotional.

Drumpt Derangement Syndrome Ruins Another Episode
dan-melone3 September 2019
James Woods and his persona have been a staple of the show for many many years. But because he's a Republican they have to get rid of him and erase all traces and references. This is getting so old. It would just be so nice to have an escape from anything POTUS in our entertainment. I don't mind an anti-political jab, but that's not what this is, it's targeted propaganda. Why can't shows today focus on just being funny without all the hate.

Not a Good Way to Remember Adam West
jayjaxan21 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is the episode where Adam West is dead even though they made a joke of him being dead like 5 episodes ago none the less it's done awfully the first couple of minutes with Peter and Brian trying to change the name of the school to Adam West High (kind of like Peter's got Woods episode from season4) but the episode nose dives to a plot with Brian and Quagmire running for mayor and I don't care I thought this episode about Adam West not about Brian and Quagmire's relationship (rip Adam West)
