The first series of 'Yus, My Dear' ended on February 1976. Ratings were high enough to justify a second series and seven months later one appeared for a longer run of thirteen episodes as opposed to six.
Wally and Benny have been enjoying late night poker games with their friends, much to the dismay of Lil. To ensure he doesn't do it again, she turns up at his work every pay day to confiscate his pay packet.
One evening, Lil gets a call from her sister ( seen in episode two, series one ) to inform her that she is unwell and so off goes Lil to tend to her. Wally and Benny take advantage of this to enjoy another card game with their friends. Can they avoid being caught by Lil?
The second series' opener is quite funny, though the poker game theme was later used to better effect in the 'Only Fools & Horses' episode 'The Losing Streak'. Aside from being a bit of a snob, Lil would also appear to be somewhat two faced, berating Wally for squandering his money on poker games whilst she wastes money on kitchen appliances that she never uses. One of Wally and Benny's poker chums is played by the late Johnny Briggs, a.k.a Mike Baldwin from 'Coronation Street'.
Funniest bit - Wally and Benny cooking sausages and staking a bet on which one will cook quicker. Whilst cooking them, Benny starts making comments like that of a racing commentator!
