This drama's subject matter was very topical of the time. In the 1990s, Hong Kong's changing economical landscape forced many middle-aged businessmen to spend extended time away from the territory. This caused many cases of infidelity.
When it premiered, I thought Yuen Puipui (YPP, the lead female character) made the wrong choice to reunite with her ex-husband, instead of marrying her doctor boyfriend. I still believe that today. But I also understand that love is something one often don't make rational decision on. More importantly, I also understand that the idea that a divorced woman with children marrying another man maybe too progressive for TVB viewers in 1990s.
On another note, I never could imagine that a TVB drama's title can enrich my English vocabulary.
