More domestic appliance torment for Ada.
Sleepin_Dragon10 July 2023
Ada has managed without a vacuum cleaner since Eddie tried unblocking the sink with it, she calls in a salesman, who convinces her to buy a top of the range model.

Quite a funny episode, it did remind me of an earlier plot, but this worked pretty well. You knew full well what the plot twist was going to be, but it worked well.

We know after the washing machine incident that Alf is a little tight when it comes to household appliances, he was never going to want to part with his cash.

Favourite scene had to be where Sam makes his adjustments to the cleaner, leaving Alf and Ada looking a little....stressed.

That's one of the funniest looking vacuum cleaners I've ever seen, a built in radio, what a nifty idea.

7/10.

Come Cleaner

In the previous series Ada wanted a new washing machine.

Now she wants a new vacuum cleaner. The ole one is not working and she has invited a vacuum cleaner salesman.

Despite warnings that the slick tongued salesman will sell her an expensive model. Ada is confident that she will resist his patter and but a cheap model.

Ada should had listened to her family. She buys an all singing and dancing model.

It is bought on credit and Alf knows nothing about it. Maybe Ada would have to come clean and face the music.

Somehow the new vacuum cleaner ends up at the church hall jumble sale by mistake.

Alf picks it up cheap thinking it is broken. Only once he finds out that it looks brand new and is working, he decides to tell Ada that he paid the full price for it.

At least this is a well constructed episode and is also funny in places. I wonder if the plot was lifted from a US sitcom!
