Bruce Ramsey
richardfuller-929734 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Kelly's desired date with the unseen Bruce Ramsey, who then backs out due to illness.

Ironically Bruce Ramsey was the son of Betty Ramsey (Mary Jane Croft) and Ralph Ramsey (Frank Nelson) on three episodes in the final, seventh season of I Love Lucy, as their Connecticut next-door neighbors.

It's it a small world?

My First Bachelor Father Episode

Warning: Spoilers
And what a clunker! Forsythe wants to teach his daughter to tell the truth when she wants to break one date for another she wants to keep.

He makes a date to play golf with 'some buddy' and then a cruise with a beautiful lady.

He decides to get out of the golf date, but the buddy has met the lady and learned Forsythe's plans. He whines like a baby over the phone for Forsythe not to break the golf date.

THEN the friend calls the lady, imitates Forsythe and says he has a bad cold and can't make the cruise and she should take the friend! Hey, fella, a lady can make up her own mind who she wants to take a cruise with.

Now Forsythe and the lady learn the guy tricked them (I talked to you at Chuck's apartment and Chuck said I should go on the cruise with him, since you were sick. Hey, sister, did you hear what you said?) so Forsythe decides to 'get even'.

??? Now this is when it gets totally off.

Forsythe writes a note and gives it to Peter to take to Chuck.

first off, we aren't told what the note says. It is breaking the golf date, but what does it say? We don't know.

So now Chuck, imitating a Texas client Forsythe has an appointment with for Monday, wants Forsythe to change their business date and have it Saturday, same day as the cruise and golf game.

Does Chuck have issues? Now, we are supposed to assume Forsythe and Peter immediately know it is really Chuck on the phone, NOT the Texas client.

Forsythe says, tell him Im not here.

Peter says he can only do that if Forsythe is 'not in the house' so Forsythe has to step outside in the rain.

Forsythe tells Peter to grab his rain coat to deliver the message to Chuck, but Forsythe steps into the rain with no rain coat or umbrella. Why is that? Wouldn't it have been easier to just go "nice try, Chuck" and hang up the phone? Forsythe gets a cold for real, the lady thinks he is faking, Chuck then shows up and tries to assume Forsythe is faking, making the lady mad.

All around, one very peculiar episode. Forsythe essentially did nothing but have a really bad excuse for a friend, if you ask me.
