Sex & Nudity

  • There is no actual nudity in the film. Though lead actress On-On "Candice" Yu strips down to her bra and underwear in a scene by a fire inside a wooden shed. The lead actor Alan Tang also takes off his shirt in the scene.
  • In the same scene, Alan Tang and Candice Yu then engage in a very long and intimate sexual scene. They tongue kiss continuously for more than two and a half minutes. Alan Tang's tongue almost never leaves Candice Yu's mouth during the kiss. In one scene, Candice Yu opens her mouth and Alan Tang exaggeratedly extends his tongue entirely inside her mouth to lick Candice Yu's tongue. The exchange of saliva can be clearly seen between the two.
  • Candice Yu also caresses Alan Tang's bare chest and Alan Tang touches and holds Candice Yu's breast from the side during the sexual scene. This scene, though without actual nudity, can be considered explicit especially given the fact that lead actress Candice Yu was only 17 years old at the time.

Violence & Gore

  • Alan Tang fights with three thugs by a beach, punches are thrown, and they each takes a bad beating.
  • In a flashback scene, Alan Tang stabs three men to death with a knife in a fight. But no blood is shown on screen.

Profanity

  • In one scene, the detective yells out what is the Chinese equivalence to "bullsh*t."

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • When Alan Tang and Candice Yu meet in a barroom, there are several sailors in the background drinking and seemingly smoking.
  • There is no drug use in the film.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • In the DVD and some VCD versions of the film, Alan Tang has an imaginary scene in which he shoots Candice Yu dead with a gun and then tries to commit suicide. In the theatrical and early VCD versions, however, this scene is deleted.
