The guys at the college are getting a lot of knit things from their girlfriends. From socks to scarves to sweatshirts it seems that every guy has something from their girlfriend. Except for Rick. He has been going with the girl named Joyce and she has noticed that the other girls have been knitting things for their boyfriends.
She decides to get a hold of Harriet and knit a sweater for Rick in secret. In order to do this in secret she has to break her dates with him which leaves him confused. David says it's probably because Joyce doesn't want to go out with him anymore. Ricky decides to take out a girl who just had a fight with her boyfriend, a basketball player. This is where the plot takes an interesting turn as Joyce is still knitting her sweater for Rick in secret.
This was a good idea for the series. Since the boys are now in college and are dating more it was very popular at this time for girls to knit things for their boyfriends. It was neat that Ozzie would incorporate that into this episode.
