There are times throughout soap opera history that you wish that certain storylines would either wrap up quicker, be dropped altogether or never have been. What started as intriguing during the first weeks of the Laura Collins story has suddenly turned dull, and the meaty pieces from previous episodes now seem like convenient little bits of meat thrown in to fool the audience as where the big chunks are and when they'll make their way into the storyline stew.
Like Roger and Burke in recent episodes, the recently missing Carolyn shows up, impetuously visiting Burke and expressing her fury over Burke and Laura. It becomes obvious that a little more than six months into the show, the writers really have no idea what to do with the fabulous Nancy Barrett other than make her the spoiled, demanding rich girl. The only real revelation that offers any storyline potential is the fact that the woman burn to death in Phoenix was indeed Laura, making Victoria confused in spite of the obvious conclusion. Conard Fowkes seems to be running out of story potential which obviously pettered out.
