- A group of men attempt to watch a woman urinate, but her friend blocks their view. Nothing graphic is shown.
- A Russian commander tells his unit about how Chechans behead their captives, cutting off the penis and sticking it inside the mouth of the head, before throwing it at the enemy to demoralize them.
- Two women briefly discuss having sex with the other mercenaries.
Violence & Gore

- Gory war violence throughout the entire film.
- Men are blown up and shot at by snipers, rocket launchers, tanks and landmines, often with the camera panning over the bloody results.
- In a very gruesome and disgusting scene, a tank rolls over a dead body, and the camera shows an extended closeup of the dismembered body parts being carried under the tire tracks. Not for the faint of heart.
- The Chechan snipers are a pair of women who keep shooting at downed enemies.
- Dead bodies are shown with intenstines, brains and other organs exposed.
- A few men are executed by the Chechans to humiliate the Russian soldiers. In one scene, a Chechan soldiers urinates on a pile of dead Russians to the amusement of his comrades.
Profanity

- Strong language depending on subtitles. The African mercenaries on the Chechan side swear very clearly in English in a few scenes.
- "F**k your/his/their mother(s)" is a recurring insult.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

- Men are shown smoking. In one scene, a group of soldiers drink from big jars that might be filled with alcohol.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- The whole film has a bleak and nilihistic atmosphere to it. Warfare isn't shown in a positive light. The main antagonist is very creepy and merciless.
- The ultra-realistic war violence might be off-putting to some viewers used to the more gung-ho American war films.
Spoilers
Violence & Gore
- The female snipers are shot in the groin by dumdum rounds (as payback for killing a Russisn in the same way earlier). They are then stabbed to death by the men who shot them.
- A tank driver is dragged out of it after it's blown up. His legs are shown as bloody stumps.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- A young Russian soldier is beheaded with barbed wire as a form of execution. His head is then launched using a rocket launcher into a besieged building to terrify his comrades inside.
- A tank driver is beaten with the butt of assault rifles and has his hands nailed to a cross, which is then hoisted in front of his comrades to demoralize them further.
