DCI Kim Reid replaces DCI Gordon Wray, and doesn't waste any time getting stuck in and ruffling feathers.
A good first episode for Reid, it feels as if the show has modernised somewhat with her arrival. Great jokes surrounding Monroe, it's as if they tried to humanise him a little, up until now he's been RoboCop, the manure scene was very funny.
I adore Carolyn Pickles, I had absolutely no idea she was in The Bill, I look forward to seeing what she can do here, surely there will be clashes with Burnside and Roach.
It's definitely going to change the dynamic of the show up, as there is now a woman with a high ranking job, she doesn't tick the box for being male and stale.
