The Older Players Steal The Show
boblipton2 August 2022
Newlyweds Rex Bell and Marion Shockley are a couple of lovebirds. But his uncle, Edward McWade, and her aunt, Dot Farley, had been engaged many years ago, quarreled and now hate each other. Of course they both show up at the youngsters' home.

Bell was known as a cowboy star, Clara Bow's husband, and lieutenant-governor of Nevada. Miss Shockley was a WAMPAS Baby star whose career never took off. They don't really matter, because the heavy lifting in this funny comedy is provided by the two older performers, who are marvelously grouchy towards each other.

The newlyweds and their grouchy house guests
planktonrules2 August 2022
The story begins with a newlywed couple having breakfast. The husband (Rex Bell) tells his wife that his Uncle Peter is coming for a visit. Soon after the husband leaves, Aunt Molly shows up unannounced. This is a serious problem as Molly HATES Peter and the feeling is mutual! It seems that decades ago, the pair were in love but somehow it fizzled...and soon turned into deep hate. What is the couple to do with a couple grouches as house guests?

This is a cute comedy because the actors playing Peter and Molly (Edward McWade and Dot Farley) were wonderfully grouchy! It also is a nice chance to see Rex Bell (Clara Bow's real life husband) in a rare non-cowboy role. Overall, a very nice, albeit veyr unrealistic short.
