Sadly, Madly, Bradley

A balloon with a smile is the latest stunt Howard pulls to attracts Clegg's attention. When Clegg refuses to meet a certain lady on Howard's behalf. Barry is the next mug but Glenda finds out.

We hear Billy constantly complain pof his wife's sister. In this episode, Billy mentions his miserable brother in law Bradley. Not a man with a sunny disposition and he doesn't like to get wet.

Getting wet was always going to be on the cards when Auntie Wainwright's portable trough that she wants transporting to a local farmer turns out to be an inflatable boat.

Tom and Smiler get an early road test. Tom, Truly, Clegg and Billy get to try it on the river. It could almost make a morose man laugh silly.

I would have thought by now Glenda would know who Marina is and who she hangs around with. Not sure why she is constantly referred to as 'that woman.' Glenda, she was invited to your wedding!

Howard is desperate to meet his young lady, he attempts to attract Norman's attention with a smiley faced balloon.

I thought this one was funny, intensely sweet and comforting to watch, how could anyone not enjoy watching this, it's pure nostalgia.

All the elements are hard, Auntie's trying to turn a profit, Ivy is ready with her brush, and the trio of adventurers are joined by yet another barn pot.

I hadn't realised it before, but Howard is definitely my favourite character, he's just adorable, clearly in love with Pearl, but infatuated by his young lady. He does sad and unloved very well.

Many years back I wrote to Jean Ferguson and received the most gorgeous letter back, clearly someone who loved what she did, and clearly one of life's wonderful people. I cherish that letter, she is an absolute joy to watch on screen.

Enjoyed this, 8/10.
