Need to watch to close story lines

All of the other reviews are on point about the writing but you need to watch this episode in order to close particular story lines. The writers kind of had to write this episode for various reasons. Did you just want Sheppard to break the fourth wall and tell you Lucias is at it again but not really and Kolya died in a shootout? Oops I better click the spoilers button. Hallowed are SG fans!

Irresponsible move for writers

I started watching this with some apprehension and my suspicions were confirmed. While Lucius had been amusing in Irresistible, he failed to amuse or interest me in this episode. A trivial story line littered with plot holes, it leaves one wondering if this is how the show will end up going down the tubes.

The character of Kolya is wasted here and the vain attempts at a comedic episode dilute the action and seriousness that should have been associated with Kolya. Despite having the potential to be a well developed bad guy, he is disposed of far too easily and without any thought given to past interaction between Kolya and Sheppard.

There are a few moments which amused me, so I'm going to sit at 3/10 instead of 1/10.

Awful episode. I love this show, but this episode falls short. They ruined the idea of the personal shield. In the episode where the shield was introduced by Rodney, he couldn't eat or drink, and he couldn't be touched. The writers break the rules they established over and over with Luscious Levine (a barely needed character in the series). I love Richard Kind as an actor, but this episode just had poor writing.

Additionally, the cinematography is sub-par. Many instances of poor focusing of the camera and framing of shots. Overall just a disappointment. Hopefully the next episode exceeds this one. I'm sure it will, but this 40 minutes of my life will never be returned..

Apparently two writers were needed for this episode. Little kids would not go for such a ridiculous story. A guy has a shield, but does not know to use a weapon in conjunction with it. He is shown being hit repeatedly with two by fours, without budging a millimetre, but then he is easily bent into a basin full of water. Then the Atlantis team organizes an ambush, being themselves ambushed without any of them sensing anything. And of course the shield fails exactly at the worst moment. Lucius and Sheppard stroll around the village practically yelling at each other, no one hears them. So much for sensors, which exist today by the way. These writers should be flipping burgers, not write. I didn't even want to write that much, but IMDb requires 10 lines. What is 10 lines, 10 lines in my edit box? Don't they know that lines have no meaning in html? More appropriate is to use word count, but then you need to have a word counter. Other smart people who get paid for nothing.

When the annoying character Luscious is wearing the personal field he is able to be touched and kissed, and, at the start of this episode he gets an injection! Later on he is nearly drowned by the bad guys! When Rodney McKay is wearing an identical personal shield, he quickly finds out that he can't eat or drink, etc... These writers need to stick to their own rules, because fans of this series know when something is wrong!

Same story over and over

My god these writers are horrible. That sentence covered it all but was to short so I added this sentence, hope this makes it long enough.... Yeah it did.
