Storyline

Sheppard and his team visit a planet where there supposedly lives a great hero, someone who has great powers. They arrive to find that the great hero is none other than their old friend, Lucius Lavin. they immediately suspect that he's seduced the locals by using his drug but that proves not to be the case. He does have a body shield however that seems to make him impenetrable. As his popularity begins to wane, a group of bandits attacks the village. He repels them and is once again the hero. The bandits turn out to be outcast Genii warriors, part of the late Cowan's personal bodyguards who were actually being paid by Lucius to stage a phony attack. When Lucius stiffs them on the agreed payment, they return for real this time with commander Kolya in charge....and he would like nothing better to get his revenge on Sheppard. Written by garykmcd

Goofs

Colonel Sheppard, when attempting to save Lucius Lavin, has a P90 equipped with a suppressor. Later on, he is shown with the regular SBR version of the P90. Whereas suppressors are removable, it is unlikely that he'd remove it while trying to stay hidden. See more »

Nice Try

Awful episode. I love this show, but this episode falls short. They ruined the idea of the personal shield. In the episode where the shield was introduced by Rodney, he couldn't eat or drink, and he couldn't be touched. The writers break the rules they established over and over with Luscious Levine (a barely needed character in the series). I love Richard Kind as an actor, but this episode just had poor writing.

Additionally, the cinematography is sub-par. Many instances of poor focusing of the camera and framing of shots. Overall just a disappointment. Hopefully the next episode exceeds this one. I'm sure it will, but this 40 minutes of my life will never be returned..
