Well-shot and well-done fun
kt_de_cuba22 June 2006
Warning: Spoilers
David M. Young brings his familiar formula for humor to the screen in this his third short film. Beautifully recorded in High Definition (mimics 35mm wonderfully) and with lots of great shots inspired by the Hitchcock classic of 1960, Psycho, which Young lovingly pays homage to in his own way.

David M. Young's short films are structured like a classic joke, a strong set-up that paints a clear picture and an unexpected punchline that always causes a few chuckles.

The short is entertaining, engaging and humorous, which is exactly what it set out to be.

From Hitchcocked to Hitchedcock
sandover15 February 2010
Warning: Spoilers
And the director's wordplay says it all, what this tongue-in-cheek short is about.

We seemingly see two men hooking up after on-line cruising. The film takes place almost exclusively in the small shower. Too many razors sprinkled everywhere more than poke us for fun, or upcoming ugliness. Thank God, it is all a played-out fantasy between the couple. We learn that because ***spoiler*** mom knocks on the door for them to get going. It is their wedding day. So, this is how a cock gets hitched.

The overdone intermingled static shots are easy-and-cheesy tributes to the Master and stuffed stuff for the short and its somewhat thin premise to get going, and fall like a gag. For it doesn't actually evolve, like a joke does. It is more like an extended visual gag (with ad nauseam funny bits of sax). But that is OK. The end is silly, and is all one can wish for. It is also succinctly cunning what it is all about in Hitch.

Hitchcock Lives!!!!
enrique-perez-130 June 2006
I totally enjoyed the wonderfully wicked short film "Hitchcocked", by director David M. Young. This film is a wonderful tribute to the master. The director and actors take you on a seemingly harmless casual-encounter roller-coaster ride and make you sweat it out until the bitter end. The story development, with excellent Hitchcockian touches, keeps you at the edge of your seat until you completely fall off . . . your seat!! I'd love to see more work from talented director David M. Young and his superb actors Yuval David and David Grant Beck. Don't miss this film, and remember that shaving will never be the same, straight or not . . . trust me!!!

Suspenseful story
Gordon-1119 September 2008
This short film is about two men hooking up online for some fun. Only it turns out to be a dangerous rendezvous.

"Hitchcocked" is a low budget thriller short. In this short, we are already led to believe that something is wrong soon after the beginning. The heart warming romance quickly spirals down the drain, replaced with fear and suspense.

It is clearly better than what appears to be soft porn because of the thrill and suspense. The rather anti-climatic ending kills the whole suspense and thrill, even though it is happy and sweet. Overall, I think "Hitchcocked" is fun and entertaining to watch. This has potential to be expanded to become a longer film.

Takeoff, letdown
alanjj7 June 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I see that the director has provided the synopsis of his film, and it is really more of an advertising line than a synopsis. Al and Fred do not "hook up for a little casual fun", it does not "soon turn ugly," and it does not "reveal some fateful truths about Internet-dating, love and death." This is an amusing takeoff on Psycho, which veers between a conventional gay mating dance and well-known elements of the best-known scene from Psycho. So we have various shower scenes replicating THE shower scene. The best one is a drain shot, where a dark-colored shampoo spirals down the shower drain. But it ends up in utter conventionality, all the excitement and tension let go for a silly uplifting ending. Like a ride in a speedboat to your mom's house for meatloaf.

a parody. and a homage. both inspired, seductive and full of precise humor. two guys. a fantasy. suggestions, in which the object are same important like actors. and the final. British humor and the flavor of Psycho. and the good think is the wise equilibrium. because, in this short film, all is at the right place. the humor, the illusion , the thrill and the end. so, a delight. and a meet with an unique universe.
