Moore mans 'Battlestar Galactica'
Ronald D. Moore, the mastermind behind Battlestar Galactica, will make his directorial debut on an upcoming episode of the Sci Fi Channel's cult hit.
The erstwhile executive producer, head writer and developer of the series, will begin shooting the episode, which he will also write, just before Thanksgiving.
"I've thought about directing for a long time and this season seemed like the time to finally take the plunge," Moore said. "It'll be great to be working with the BSG family of cast and crew for my first experience behind the camera, and I'm really looking forward to it."
The seasoned scribe, who wrote for Star Trek: The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine before his tenure with Galactica, was recently nominated for an Emmy for penning the two-part episode, Occupation/Precipice.
Currently in production on its fourth season, the Emmy-winning series is scheduled to return to the air in April 2008.
