Drunk in Charge of a Bicycle
Prismark1021 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It starts out with Alf getting his history wrong. While arguing with son in law Mike. Alf is adamant that former Prime Minister William Gladstone was Jewish and not Disraeli.

Alf also accuses Gladstone of being Jack the Ripper. Much to Rita and Alf's amazement.

Min has a touch of sympathy for Gladstone if he was Jack the Ripper. It means his wife was not doing her wifely duties.

Min also wants Bert to lose weight and go jogging with his new tracksuit. Only when Alf accompanies Bert on his bicycle, they nip to the pub and get drunk after Bert is worn out jogging.

When a black policeman stops a drunken Alf, he gets abusive and is arrested for being drunk in charge of a bicycle.

At the police station there are more black police officers and an Indian doctor who comes to examine Alf.

James Ellis best known for Z Cars is the sardonic Police Sergeant.

It was interesting when Alf was debating with his family but the episode got weaker once Bert and Alf when exercising.
