Despite the sure-fire premise-- a maniac hiding in a dark house-- the results are disappointing. There's little atmosphere despite the premise; the haunting is not played up; and the "reveal occurs in undramatic fashion. Instead, we get a lot of technical talk. But probably most disappointing: Pam gets little chance to charm the audience with her wide-eyed innocence. Okay, it's true, I've got a crush on her. Still, I think she was a big part of the series' success. There are two notables in the cast-- Jeanette Nolan from Psycho (1960) and many other films, and Paul Guilfoyle familiar from a hundred wacko roles. Anyway, for whatever reasons, the episode largely fails to live up to its promising title.
