A dramatic end to series 1

Wow, what a gripping end to the first series of 'Life on Mars'. It just goes to show why this show is so loved even now, and that when cop shows are good they can be very good.

Full of brilliant performances from both regular cast and guests, this has more twists and turns in terms of plot than you'd think possible for a one hour show.

I've thoroughly enjoyed watching Sam's story play out thus far, and look forward to seeing how things develop further in series two.

Worst episode in a great programme

Warning: Spoilers
I can accept time travel and the blonde girl coming out of the telly but Sam "the hypocrite" Tyler with his daft lad naivety and blindness in this episode (s1e8) NOT resulting in every single copper on the force baying for his blood I cannot understand. He really makes me want to put my foot through the telly. Apart from that it's a fantastic programme. Let's face it, we all watch it for Gene Hunt anyway.
