The One Where Bender Flushes Nibbler Down The Toilet...
taylorkingston1 May 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I really like this episode. It's cute, it's funny and it warms your heart a little.

In this episode, Bender is fed up with Nibbler, Leela's pet, so he flushes him down the toilet. Everyone is so upset at him because of that and because he has not emotions towards anything. So Professor Farnsworth makes him an emotional transponder so he can feel what Leela is feeling. Bender is actually very devastated when he realizes how much he hurt Leela. So to try and make her feel better, he, Fry and Leela all go down into the ruins of Old New York to find him.

Fun Fact: Nibbler actually bites Bender's shiny metal ass.

Title Screen Gag: Made from meat by-products.

Overall, I give this episode a 9 out of 10, which in my ratings book is: Amazing.

My 2 favorites!

I am a big fan of Bender, and I can't help but to love Nibbler as well. Whatever creature it might be, Nibbler is adorable!

This episode was full of emotions and showed a side of Bender we haven't seen before!

Always fun to see new characters being introduced as well, maybe not series regulars but it was fun to see the sewer people and the urban legend that everyone thought was Nibbler.

Even though I loved Bender being a bit more emotional than he usually is, I did love to have our good old Bender back with his snarky comments and R-rated humor!

Another great episode of season 2! Hopefully the other seasons are as good as the episodes we have seen so far!

Bender gets emotional

Warning: Spoilers
The second DVD season gets off to a good start when Bender starts getting jealous of the attention Nibbler receives; this increases after they learn that he is five years old and decide to throw a party for him. Bender tries to steal the limelight but no matter what he does the rest of the crew ignore him because Nibbler is doing something cute like wearing a hat. In one last attempt to impress Bender cooks an amazing cake but Nibbler eats it before the crew can even see it. Bender can take no more so flushes Nibbler down the lavatory! Leela is devastated but Bender just doesn't care; at least he doesn't until the Professor fits him with an empathy chip that forces him to experience Leela's emotions. The new caring Bender then flushes himself down the lavatory so he can search the sewers for Nibbler; he is soon joined by Fry and Leela and together the three of them discover the mutants who live in the sewers. These mutants tell a story about a fearsome beast known as El Chupanibre that lives in the sewers and has a ravenous appetite; surely they can't be talking about Nibbler!

I tend to prefer the episodes where the crew go into space and visit other planets but this earthbound story was entertaining. This episode provided a good introduction to the sewer dwellers who will become occasional characters in the series although at this point it is impossible to tell if they were intended to become recurring characters or not. Bender's reaction to the empathy chip was fairly funny although it did get a little repetitive over time. Over all it wasn't a classic episode but was still entertaining and should please fans of the series.
