Quotes

  • Ethel Hallow : [All of Class 1 are cleaning the locker rooms and they are groaning in disgust]  I don't know why *we* have to do this! This isn't *our* mess!

Mildred Hubble : [seeing the "Nothing but trouble" written on her locker]  Well, I didn't write this stuff in my *own* locker!

Ethel Hallow : [scoffs]  Are you saying *I* did?

    Mildred Hubble : No!

Drusilla Paddock : You saying *I* did?

Maud Moonshine : [to Ethel and Drusilla]  She's just saying she *didn't*!

Drusilla Paddock : And so what if I did? What are you going to do about it?

Ethel Hallow : It's the truth anyway.

[Drusilla and Ethel start mocking Mildred]

Ethel Hallow : Mildred Hubble: Nothing But Trouble!

    [both smirk nastily]

Maud Moonshine : [to Drusilla and Ethel]  Give up, you pair! It's too hot to argue!

  • Miss Cackle : [after Miss Bat gets insulted by Miss Hardbroom and locks herself in the cupboard]  Oh! I do wish you'd be more careful with what you say to Miss Bat! She could be in there for months!

Miss Constance Hardbroom : [Miss Hardbroom zaps the door open]  OPEN!

[Ethel Hallow stands outside the staff room door]

    Miss Constance Hardbroom : Well?

Miss Cackle : [to Ethel]  What is it, Ethel?

Ethel Hallow : There's a fight going on, Miss Cackle, in the corridor.

    Miss Constance Hardbroom : WHO?

Ethel Hallow : Mildred Hubble. She just went crazy and started attacking Drusilla!

[the scene cuts to Drusilla and Mildred wrestling each other and arguing, with Enid and the others telling them to stop. Miss Hardbroom zaps both Drusilla and Mildred trying to stop the fight]

Drusilla Paddock : [to Miss Hardbroom, about Mildred]  She started it!

Ethel Hallow : [to Miss Hardbroom, agreeing with Drusilla]  Yes, it was Mildred!

Jadu Wali : [to Ethel and Drusilla]  Liar!

[the class end up in a huge argument]

Miss Constance Hardbroom : [shouting at the top of her voice to the class]  QUIET AT ONCE, ALL OF YOU! I have had quite enough from this class today,

    [looking at Mildred and Drusilla]

Miss Constance Hardbroom : and from some, more than enough.

[Miss Hardbroom begins to smell something awful]

Miss Constance Hardbroom : What on earth is that disgusting smell?

  • Miss Cackle : [the girls are gathered in the Great Hall for the drink tasting ceremony]  Attention girls! Welcome back, those of you who have just returned.

    [the girls take their seats]

Miss Cackle : When the heat is on, it is time to rise to the challenge. And I am pleased to say that, despite setbacks and misunderstandings, we have not one, but two efforts of making a delicious summer drink by natural means.

    [to Mildred]

Miss Cackle : Perhaps, you'd like to tell us about yours first, Mildred?

Mildred Hubble : [nervously]  It's called... umm... Younger Flower Cordial, and... er...

    [to the teachers]

Mildred Hubble : Would you like to taste some?

Miss Cackle : Very well, Mildred. I suppose in this case, the proof in the pudding is in the drinking.

    [Miss Cackle smiles]

Miss Cackle : [Mildred pours Miss Bat, Miss Hardbroom and Miss Cackle a glass of their drink]  Looks delicious.

    [smells the drink]

Miss Cackle : Smells decor. Cheers!

[Miss Bat, Miss Hardbroom and Miss Cackle drink it but feels a spice on their tongues. Mildred doesn't realize, but her drink has been spiked by Ethel and Drusilla with hot sauce]

    Miss Cackle : Oh! MILDRED!

Mildred Hubble : [apologetic]  I'm sorry, Miss Cackle!

Miss Cackle : [to Mildred, very shocked, appalled and with the spice in her tongue]  I should *think* you *are*!

Mildred Hubble : I don't understand! It was delicious when we tried it,

    [to Miss Bat]

Mildred Hubble : wasn't it Miss Bat?

[Miss Bat nods, but sputters the drink due to the hot sauce]

Ethel Hallow : [walking up to Miss Cackle, Miss Hardbroom and Miss Bat]  Would you like to try *ours* now, Miss Cackle? It's called Summer Breeze, and it'll make you feel as cool as cucumber and as light as air.

Miss Cackle : [to Ethel]  That sounds like a very good idea, Ethel! Let's have some, right away!

[they put the previous glasses back and Ethel gives the three of them glasses of her drink. They feel much better that the hot pepper is getting out of their tongue]

Miss Cackle : Wonderful! Marvelous! Well done Ethel! A little more perhaps. I can still taste the hot pepper in the back of my throat.

[Ethel pours a little bit more of her drink to Miss Cackle. She drinks more of it. Suddenly, the teachers sense a weird feeling after tasting Ethel's drink. They hear a rumble]

Miss Cackle : [to Miss Hardbroom]  Are you alright, Miss Hardbroom?

Miss Constance Hardbroom : [Miss Hardbroom hears a rumble]  Not altogether, Miss Cackle!

[Miss Hardbroom, Miss Bat and Miss Cackle shoot through the roof]

Drusilla Paddock : [Drusilla realises that both her and Ethel's potion made the teachers go through the roof]  It's our potion! Do something, Ethel!

    Ethel Hallow : [to Drusilla]  I can't!

Drusilla Paddock : [sees the teachers through the roof]  They've gone through the roof!

Enid Nightshade : [sees the teachers coming down]  They're coming back down!

[Miss Hardbroom, Miss Cackle and Miss Bat float down the roof and back to their seats]

Miss Constance Hardbroom : [after going through the roof and coming down to earth, to Miss Cackle]  What... was... *THAT*?

Miss Cackle : [to Miss Hardbroom]  Unless I'm very much mistaken, the Doctor Foster Effect!

[to Ethel and Drusilla, yelling at them, angrily]

Miss Cackle : WHAT HAVE YOU GOT TO SAY FOR YOURSELF, ETHEL HALLOW?

[Ethel looks down, guilty as all three teachers look at her disappointed, and Mildred with a smile of success]
