"Find Corrinne and you'll find death!"

Warning: Spoilers
Oliver Crawford's 'The Night Of The Sudden Death' opens with a daring raid by masked men on the U.S. mint in Carson City. The plates are substituted with counterfeits, thereby endangering the U.S. economy. Jim is attacked in his hotel room, and nearly poisoned by Prussic Acid. The only lead is the lovely 'Corinne Foxx' ( Julie Payne ), daughter of a guard at the mint who had collaborated with the raiders. She is used as a target in an archery act in Trevor's Wonderful Circus, owned by 'Warren Trevor' ( Robert Loggia ) who fancies himself as a big game hunter, and plans to manufacture enough money to buy himself an entire African country. A dancing girl takes Jim to what he believes to be a rendezvous with Corinne - in fact, he is pushed into a river containing a very hungry crocodile...

Another entertaining episode. Crawford was responsible for 'The Special One' episode of the original 'Outer Limits' and 'The Lost Bomb' for 'Voyage to The Bottom Of The Sea'. Speaking of bottoms, Antoinette Bower exhibits a very shapely one here ( it should have had a credit ), clad in incredibly tight trousers. She plays 'Janet Coburn', the animal trainer. Her character starts out bad, but when Trevor kills her beloved tiger, she switches sides. Arte poses as a clown, bless him.

Produced by Fred Freiberger, responsible for the mostly terrible 'Star Trek' Season 3 and horrendous 'Space: 1999' Season 2. There is nothing either terrible or horrendous about his 'Wild Wild West' work, however.
