Albert de Vink lives pretty much as a vagrant, but he's suddenly spotted flashing the cash, Van Der Valk investigates, and soon realises that de Vink has some pretty powerful friends.
Quality episode, I really enjoyed this one, don't ask why, but this feels along the lines of an Inspector Morse episode to be, it has that high brow feel to it. An interesting opening sequence, we never quite see the full story.
Richard Pasco was perfectly cast as de Vink, something of a surprise seeing him playing such a role, but he was perfectly cast, I truly believed in him being someone who once had stature, I always think if Pasco in Inspector Morse, he always looked so well to do.
Van der Valk being propositioned by The Madame was quite amusing, he displayed good will power.
I'm still not sold on Nigel Stock.
Well made and intriguing.
