This episode doesn't actually happen. It was filmed, deemed too violent, and replaced with the next episode, so if you are watching this show in order, skip this one and watch it after all the others, just like fans back in the eighties got to, after the show was pretty much cancelled. Kyle meets Ham here, and then later they met for the first time in the next episode. There's a heroine character played by Over the Edge starlet Pamela Ludwig who only seems important but since this is a dead-end episode she's no longer on the series. Perhaps she was a love interest for Ham? No one knows...
Either way, this is a good episode, a kind of Jaws episode combined with Dune's Sand Worm as a kind of Sand Shark kills people, good or bad, or, better put, Blood Beach... taking place in a prison camp, making this also a POW Great Escape aka Breakout episode, and one of the best.
