Stand-out episode

Warning: Spoilers
Dante (the excellent Michael Pare) and Lucretia (the equally fine Claudette Roche) capture Petrakis (a nicely nasty portrayal by Vincent Winterhalter), a vicious escape prisoner who has hijacked a luxury yacht. However, the Tulip gets commandeered by a Special Ops unit who are transporting Ire (beautifully played with touching grace by the lovely and petite Nazneen Contractor), a young girl with unique powers who might be infected with a deadly virus. Director Patrick Malakian and writer Nelu Ghiran expertly craft a tight and engrossing narrative that really moves along at a constant quick pace, with startling bits of bloody violence and exciting outbursts of fast'n'furious action providing plenty of rousing punch throughout. Tanya Allen is in splendidly spunky form as sarcastic spitfire Percy. Neil Dickson likewise does well as the hard-nosed Major Wayne Bartlett. Pare brings a cool sense of total weariness as Dante, who's starting to get tired of toiling away in his dangerous profession. Moreover, this episode deserves extra kudos for the nifty novel concept of a lethal virus that feels guilt and feeds on such raw human emotions as hatred and anger. All in all, a very impressive outing.
