Episode 36 introduces Detective Donohue
kevinolzak27 April 2010
Episode 36 begins with the introduction of Detective George Donohue(John Byner),who accepts the assignment to find Chester because he likes Jessica's smile.Corinne's doctor(Jo De Winter)informs the mother-to-be that she is five months pregnant, despite the fact that she's only been married a month, and it's been six months since the death of Peter, her previous relationship. Not only that, but Corinne swears she hears the fetus humming a tune when there's nobody around("Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head").While directing a TV commercial with Mr.Peppy Flake(Alex Henteloff)and Rodney Raisin(Wendell W.Wright),Jodie is visited by both his lovers,an uncertain Carol and apologetic Dennis(Bob Seagren's final appearance),whom Jodie firmly rebuffs in favor of his future bride(Rodney Raisin asks him if it's okay for him to give Dennis a call!) Elaine's father laughs at the idea of paying the 250,000 cash ransom for his daughter's safe return,so Danny and Burt try to lower the price to a more affordable 50,000.

Elaine is missing, Danny and Burt need a plan.
Sleepin_Dragon3 December 2023
Jessica brings in A Private Detective, Donohue, to look for Chester, Danny receives a ransom demand for Elaine, a cool three quarters of a million dollars, and Corrine learns just how pregnant she really is.

Maybe a little more serious, we have Elaine's kidnapping, a missing Chester, and poor Jodie, who's being torn apart by Carol and Dennis.

Burt and Danny are once again a side splitting duo, they worked so well together, they really seemed to have a chemistry.

Detective Donohue seems like a good addition to the show, he's going to be funny, he really is a smart arse.

The advert filming scene was perhaps the funniest moment, it really did take me back to those horrendous cereal adverts from my childhood, the pure hatred of those two was funny.

7/10.
