Guns, soldiers and shooting
skinnybert1 November 2020
As characterless, action-packed TV episodes go, this one is competently plotted and paced: open with a new situation/location, give it a new villain, resolve/win by the end. Involving the military (like this episode) means everyone is tense/serious, humorless and confrontational. Some decent (but not notable) roles for African-American actors (as Africans), but no real depth; nothing really shows much personality.

Reasons to watch:
  • some hints into Cutter's background, and the military mentality

Notably Bad CGI:
  • Sheena's transformation seems more lacking than usual
  • CGI helicopters are near-BIRDEMIC level of unconvincing (but not as hilarious)

No magic, no mystery
unbrokenmetal28 March 2014
Sheena and Cutter help 5 refugees to escape from a war and learn that more refugees and UN troops are surrounded in a sanctuary and the soldiers have difficulties to hold it against enemy attacks. Sheena is surprised that Cutter wants to go and fight with them, because she thinks Cutter never did anything unless money was involved. But he feels that due to his past in the military, he is obliged to do what he can to help the UN soldiers against the African warlord.

This episode tries to set up a realistic war scenario, but Sheena is a fantasy series which should have some magic, mystery and fun in it, and all of that is totally absent in this episode (except that Sheena once turns into an eagle). It's not like it is boring, because there are many gunshots to keep the audience awake, but it doesn't fit in with the majority of other episodes.
