"I feel full after the risotto"
Season 5, Episode 1: "The Mango" The season 5 premiere, The Mango, is a clear follow-up to season 4's groundbreaking "The Contest" in its frank shockingly straightforward discussion of sexual topics, but while "The Contest" did everything to avoid the M word, "The Mango" is completely direct, which in a way, makes it a bit less funny. But it's still a fantastic episode, and one of the few that solidified Seinfeld's reputation as a show that doesn't shy away from any subject. It's also the first episode in a long while that deals with Jerry and Elaine's former relationship in any significant way, and for that alone it's a standout for fans of the show. Jerry and Julia pull some of their best acting on the show.
On a side note, while the episode is clearly dominated by Jerry and Elaine, George is also fantastic in this one, and he's supported by a great performance from Lisa Edelstein (Of House fame) as his girl of the week, who remains one of the most memorable guest stars of the show's run, so much so that she made another appearances later on.
