Delightfully stupid
Mr-Fusion8 February 2017
Overall, 'The Comeback' is a strong episode.; jam-packed as usual, but the plots hang together pretty well. Kramer's efforts to amend his will offers Ben Stein in an apt guest shot (in all of his monotone glory). It's silly, but not outlandish.

And then there's George's masterful retort: "Well, the jerk store called . . . !" The line is glorious, even if it doesn't make sense. But screw it, it's relatable; how many of us have concocted just the right burn *after* an altercation? It's one of the show's best lines and (honestly) what the Internet meme was made for. And seeing him jet off to Akron just to zing a guy is a brilliant example of how big of an idiot George is. This whole episode iw roth it just for Jason Alexander's full-on storm-off tirade.

The Jerk Store
Samuel-Shovel21 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
In "The Comeback", George is insulted at work and tries to recreate the situation again so he can comeback with his "clever" retort. Kramer watches a movie where a woman falls into a coma, causing him to write a living will for what to do with him if he's ever in that situation. Elaine falls for a man she's never seen but makes movie suggestions at the rental store. Jerry buys a racket from a tennis club at the suggestion of the club's pro, only to discover the man stinks at tennis.

The jerk store is one of the funniest absurdist jokes that has ever came out of Seinfeld. George's insistence of it being funny is a great bit. Milos is a great guest appearance as well. His over the top accent and bombastic attitude fit in well with the show's tone. Strangely, Kramer's subplot is probably the most forgettable portion, a rare occurrence. Besides the slow-mo shot of him getting domed by tennis balls, there's not much to remember him by here. Still... a really solid episode!

Warning: Spoilers
I'm enjoying reflecting upon Seinfeld and re-watching many of the episodes after having first watched it when it debuted in the early 1990s, and that's ages ago init, and really, it's more relevant than ever and we need this show about nothing humor to get us through these dark days. Anyway, The Comeback was directed by David Owen Trainor instead of regular director Andy Ackerman, and I was impressed by this episode, especially with the video store picks, because that brings back the memories when you could go into a video rental store, read the back of the tape box, and enjoy a night in and of course be kind and rewind.

George Costanza for President!!!!
ivo-cobra84 January 2011
OK first off ; I'm a huge fan of Seinfeld! It's been 12. years since the show ended and i still haven't stopped watching it! This show is the best! From season 3 till season 9 the show was the best and really hilarious ! I taped almost all seasons except season 8 & 9. I run out off tapes and time. The show run really late by us and had to wake - up early in the morning and i had no time to stay late at night and taped. Waiting longer because of the commercials they were running too. Anyway today is year 2011 and i'm still watching this show! The best characters to me are Cosmo Kraner and George Costanza! I Don't like Elaine Benes that much! at first she was attractive and hot but now she isn't! She look's like my older cousin with that curly black hair and her glasses on! Jerry is great and funny i love him. This Ep# " The Comeback " is the best Ep# from Season 8 ever!!! The whole Ep# is funny and i could not stop laughing! The best part is the end! Were Karmer walks and look's so funny with his smiling face on the Tenis court and than Milosh some guy that Jerry meet throw the racket which landed on the guy with a machine - balls who shoot tennis - balls in the air who accidentally landed and hit Kramer's head. I could not stop laughing at Kramer. Than there was George and his Lines to Reilly "Oh yeah, Reilly? Well, the jerk store called. They're running out a you" I was so laughing at him and his lines he was so funny! George fly Extra from New York to Akron, Ohio just to get even with Reilly! When Reilly make George a laughing stuck in front all his members and co - workers in his meeting with stuff - members and when he change his job and start working in other state. George fly Extra there to get revenge! That is why i said George Costanza for president! George is so funny, but he dose not beat Kramer, no one dose! Well i think i said enough you all probably know the story, so i wan't be explaining it. Except about Kramer [; well he meets Elaine in the video store and he rent a " Gene movie ; " The Other Site of Darkness " about some women who landed in the coma and Kramer get's freaked out after watching the movie and he dose not wanna end like that lady did. So he decide if he ever landed in coma or get really sick and he is about to die. He want's that one of his friends turns off his machines support and plugs off the cables. So he authorized Elaine for it! But later cause he did not watch the whole movie probably only for 20.min, the women woke up and she felt fine. So he changes his mind. Jerry tells Kramer he should talk to an attorney but Jackie Chiles get him a restraining order he can't go near him nearly two hundred feet, after tho two incidents happened in the previous episodes, he humiliated Jackie, while he lost both of his cases. So he when't to see a new Lawyer "name" Shellbach! The actor who portrayed Shellbach look's like exactly the same actor who played that crazy doctor in "The Mask. " - with Jim Carrey. But i don't know if he is the same person or not. So anyway this sitcom is the best-one ever there is! Better than all the stupid sitcom shows around except ; Friends & The Fresh Prince of Bel - Air, they were my favorite's too! This episode 13 is far by the best-one ever season 8 there is! Don't miss watching it you wan't regretted! My vote is 10 out of 10 cause that episode and the show deserved!

The Ocean called.
Sirus_the_Virus18 August 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Like many Seinfeld episodes, The Comeback that has a lot of things going on in it. The Comeback is one of the greatest episodes ever. This is yet another episode that shows how stupid George really is. For him to obsess over this comeback is ridiculous, but what am I saying, George is ridiculous. All of the situations the gang are involved in are hilarious. I don't think I can pick one as the best, but I think everyones situation is funny. The Comeback is one of the funniest episodes of Seinfeld. As the show went on, it got better. That is completely true.

The Plot of the Episode: When one of George's co workers makes fun of him during a meeting, George tries to think of a way to get revenge. Jerry is convinced to buy a tennis racket when the Tennis shop owner says that it's the only one that he plays with. It turns out that he sucks. Elaine starts renting films off of the Staff Reccomendations list and becomes obsessed with Vincent, who calls her and things and he has a great taste in movies. Kramer rents a film called "The Other Side of Darkness" and wants the doctors to pull the plug from his coma if he's in a coma.

I Got to Go to Akron
Hitchcoc25 March 2023
George is insulted at a board meeting at Yankee Stadium. He has been making the usual pig of himself, gobbling shrimp. One of the guys says that the ocean called and they are running out of shrimp. The whole episode evolves around George having a comeback that he never got to use. This episode also has Jerry being talked into a new tennis racquet by a guy at the pro shop named Milos. It involves the ability to save face by cutting a deal with the guy. There is a great tennis match. This also has Elaine going to the employee picks in the video store and falling for Vincent, whom she only knows as a voice. And, finally, Kramer dealing with what he should do if is dying. He gets Jerry to agree to make a decision so he won't become a vegetable.
