"The Great Sanford Siege" finds the junkyard inundated with unpaid bills, resulting in no gas, heat, electricity, or food: "the bills come on time, but there's been a slight delay in the money!" A persistent process server (Patrick Campbell, later seen in "California Crude") carries a summons for Fred Sanford, so the two remain cooped up indoors waiting him out. Hamlin (Dick Van Patten), from the collection agency, arrives with two deputies to repossess the furniture. Fred's penchant for feigning injury works to perfection on Hamlin, threatening to sue for throwing an old man downstairs. With daylight fading, he gives in just to escape the neighborhood!
