Nepotism at its worst
imdb-2528812 June 2022
Halloween episode I came here to find out it didn't air for Halloween. Weird! Episode would have been better but Deborah Pratt ruins it. She is wooden and homely. I also came here to look at who that inept actress was and I see she is named "Deborah Pratt". Wait, what? You mean the producer cast HERSELF in a role as a young ingenue and a pretty leading lady?? LOLOL! Unbelievable. To make matters worst, she's not just the producer, she's the WIFE of Bellisario. WTF?? (Actually she only stayed married to him for some 7 years, enough to get herself a nice chunk of change and a career in Hollywood that seems to have halted since her divorce from the big Kahuna!)

What can I say about this episode? I love the Halloween vibe, I can't stand to look at Pratt. The other actress was great (the governess). Pratty instantly became my most disliked actress in the series and I'll say no more because I love the story but even Robert Torti (looking strangely like Richard Marx here) was, IMHO, very miscast here. I still give it 8/10 because I'm a sucker for anything Halloween. I prefer The Boogieman, though.

Still scared of lakes...
alura_524 October 2023
Quantum Leap came on at 10pm where I lived, and my bedtime was 10, so I had to sneak watching it most of the time.

So I was alone, trying to keep the volume down, and sitting in the dark, and at 12 years old ai was watching this episode based in part on a particularly creepy concept shown in Night Gallery, of a painting reflecting a dead person coming for the living. The painting is still one of the most creepy ideas I"ve seen, no jump scares, just gothic horror.

I'd heard of frozen drowning victims being preserved in the freezing waters, but this illustrates the idea too well, so to this day the idea of lake waters frighten me, and even knowing what happens, I find this episode especially frightening, and memorable.

Growing up I never heard of this show. It was like 2011 or later, when my husband (back then boyfriend) wanted me to find this show for him. He tried to explain the concept but at the time he confused the heck out of me. So in 2011 or later I was already hooked on ABC Family's show, "Pretty Little Liars." Still 1 of my top 10 favorites! So then I found Quantum Leap for my hubby & when I saw the title for this particular episode, I was like "hmm." "A portrait for Troian." Troian isn't a common name. & at the time I only heard of the name Troian as in Troian Bellisario! Spencer from Pretty Little Liars. So the 2nd episode after this episode on Quantum Leap, I see at the bottom names, Troian Bellisario! & I finally googled everything & felt so dumb not putting it together before! Quantum Leap's creator Donald Bellisario! & in this episode both of Troian's parents star in it! (LOL! Hahaha!) But I gotta say though, Deborah Pratt's (Troian's real mother) who plays the character "Troian" in this episode, her performance was awful... Laughable even! Somewhat worse than a Soap Opera actresses performance! Thank goodness Troian's acting is awesome! Learning all that made me enjoy Quantum Leap a little bit better, but the reboot, NOPE!!!

I mean why else would she lock Sam in Julian's study?
