How could a tin of pineapple cause so much trouble?

Fletch is horrified to discover that Slade Prison has a thief.

This is a good ironic episode with an amusing macguffin plot and strong performances.

The concept of Fletch being outraged by thievery whilst incarcerated is the main joke of the episode. His opening line to the fellow inmates is great and sets the scene perfectly. The follow up shenanigans that revolve around the stolen item are very well written and performed.

As always Fletch's banter with others is very entertaining. Godbar, MacKay and Barraclough have particularly good exchanges. All actors are on great form with Ronnie Barker leading it brilliantly.

For me it is a 7.5/10, but I round upwards.

Just Desserts

It is the start of the second series and Fletcher is concerned with all the pilfering that is going on in the prison.

Fletcher had a tin of pineapple chunks and it has been stolen. He arranges a meeting in his cell and wants the culprit to own up.

Of course the tin itself was stolen from the kitchen larder by Godber.

A bit of a farce this one and it's still funny. Godber putting the stolen margarine under his chef's hat. Later Mackay realises something is not right about Godber's hat and has a quick glance at the camera before he flattens it.
