A bit of a shocker.

Manuel, the son of a South American diplomat is kidnapped, and a ransom demand issued. His father, tough, politically minded, his mother, more concerned and kinder hearted.

I found this really hard work, I've seen one poor episode, but this was really quite bad, I didn't like the story, the script, or the acting. It simply felt really odd and out of place, I couldn't have imagined Kingdom and Ward being assigned to it.

The story so dated now, it probably was back in 73 also, those Guantalan accents sounded wonderfully English, I suppose at least we weren't subjected to any dodgy accents.

Leslie Sandsand Toby Robins give interesting performances as the parents of the kidnapped boy.... It's perhaps the first episode where the acting has felt very weak, it's normally so strong on this show, but here it's so wooden, perhaps what the script deserved.

The one plus point for me, was the presence of Carmen Silvera, who really was a cut above.

Dire, 4/10.
