Sensationalism or sabotage.

Warning: Spoilers
It's vengeance on the network for wanting more frivolous news stories to bring up the ratings, and the FYI news team really goes over the top in sensationalizing their news show. With a show opening that covers the sensationalism of the written news media moving on to daytime talk shows, the show makes great points in showing how ridiculous some of these stories are and how new shows lose credibility by exploiting the ridiculousness of some of the stories covered. Murphy's coverage of a debate on legalized prostitution is extremely funny, certainly tamer than some of the other subjects that are suggested by the news team. There's a very funny male secretary, someone with a really bad cold that goes truly over the top and expressing his agony. It's one of the best secretary cameos of the series. The combination of social relevance and farcical comedy is ingenious.
