Hey, folks, country clubs are not really as snotty as TV liked to portray them. I've met a lot of nice people in them over many years. You get the normal amount of idiots as you would in any organization. Nonetheless, TV and classic-era films, loved to show the members as ultra-snobs. Hey, maybe they were back in the "old days."
Here, Herman and family wins a contest and a $5,000 membership to join the Mockingbird Heights Country Club....and you just know this family is NOT going to fit in! To be fair, where would they?
The fun comes in two main areas: a fashion show in which Lily models her strange clothes and the golf course where Herman is just too strong for the course. If you recall the recent baseball episode in which the big lummox demolished the ballpark, you get an idea and what he could do to a nice golf course!
There were lots of good comments in here that made me chuckle, both from the country club members and from the Munster family. Grandpa says he's not interested in joining anymore because, as a Count, there isn't anyone there in his class except for the bartender, "Duke Feinberg." Lily was told to "sleep it off, dearie," after modeling her clothes....but the family can't convince Herman to quit. He has his heart set on playing golf and thinks his family doesn't "give a hoot what I want!"
So, the next day, he and Eddie go out early to the course. He calls himself "Arnie" Munster in tribute to Arnold Palmer. At 5:30 in the morning, he and Eddie are the only ones out on the course. Thankfully, nobody saw what happened....until later, which leads to the conclusion.
