An eccentric old duffer plans to have it away with his secretary and start a new life, but first he must protect his loot from the greedy clutches of the VAT man and his own good-for-nothing family. With the help of Terry and Arthur (who spots a nice little earner), he hatches an ambitious plan.
A wonderfully entertaining episode with stand out performances from Lionel Jeffries - his mannerisms are priceless - and Keith Barron as his waster of a son; also contains a memorable scene when Arthur tries to sell Japanese whiskey to the Scots mafia, and the classic line about a bri nylon shirt and dodgy gear box.
By series four Minder was increasingly revolving around Arthur Daley, and with more emphasis on comedy; it made for some further great episodes before turning into 'The Arthur Daley comedy hour', which led to Dennis Waterman's departure.
