Nicely performed episode.

In this entertaining episode, Binghamton is injured and has to stay in the hospital for a few days. While he is off his feet, he places Carpenter in charge and tells him to keep his eye on McHale and his crew.

Carpenter catches the crew making illegal moonshine and arrest them. But before they are taken off to jail, Gruber tries to bribe the Lieutenant which only makes the matter worse. For Carpenter has recorded the entire conversation and court-martial papers are to be drawn-up.

McHale comes up with a plan to make the injured Binghamton think that Carpenter is trying to get the Captain's job. In that way, perhaps he can get the court-martial against his crew withdrawn. Binghamton falls for the trap and now he thinks that Carpenter has called a meeting with the Admiral to discuss his retirement. Binghamton rises from the bed to defend his job.

This episode actually has some funny lines and comical scenes. When Binghamton dances for the Admiral, that may have been the best scene of the season. The story was interesting and the writers did a nice job of keeping the characters exciting. After a few poor shows, this one was above expectation.
