Guest starring Kim Miyori
safenoe6 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Kim Miyori plays Mioshi Osawa in The Eighth Part of the Village, and Higgins demonstrates his conciliation and friendship to his former Japanese foes from World War 2, so in many ways this episode of Magnum, P. I. was ahead of its time in that regard. Interestingly, the current generation would not really have the idea about the hatred and animosity that American armed forces felt towards the Japanese (or anyone who looked like them), so this episode is a snapshot in time.

I'm enjoying watching the early seasons of Magnum, along with the early seasons of Law and Order. I also enjoy catching up with Father Brown, Superstore and Barry.

Full of wise quotes

Magnum becomes involved in an attempted murder and a kidnapping when he tries to return a few favours. This episode is also full of wise quotes that describe part of the wisdom of the pacific and asian cultures. Its original title was Honor Thy Father, which describes the plot in a better extent.
