Marguerite, who seems to be falling into a lot of pits lately, finds her dream come true in a pit: a cache of buried treasure. In a pirate chest. RIght out of Robert Louis Stebenson. It's old, but the pirates are very much alive.
So how did pirates get on the Plateau? Oh, it's some pseudo-scientific mumbo-jumbo about the Bermuda Triangle (which hadn't even been invented by 1920). Never mind all that. The explanation rolls out fast and then it's over and done. Get on with the story.
The pirates didn't know where the treasure was buried by their Captain Bonney until Challenger and Malone show up hinting that it's found. Those castaways can't keep their mouths shut.
Nobody wants the treasure in the tree house except Marguerite so Veronica plays a practical joke on her that backfires. But Marguerite gets the last laugh.
Thoroughly enjoyable episode (apart from some of the pirates, who are a scuzzy bunch). Definitely one of season 2's top ten.
