Kip Holloway has spent his entire life in the east, but now he is riding west for his first visit with his wealthy rancher grandfather, Chad Bannion. Chad plans to marry his housekeeper, Emmy. But then two men bushwhack Kip and leave him for dead. The Ranger and Tonto find Chad and fix his wound. Chad doesn't know that Emmy's two ex-convict sons are working at the ranch as regular hands, and they and their evil mother plan to murder Chad and Kip in order to have everything for themselves. Jay Silverheels does some expert fast horseback riding while on his mission to tell Chad about his grandson being wounded. Florence Lake was in a previous color episode, The Law and Miss Aggie. She shines again in this episode as the evil Emmy.
