There is a major historical flaw in this episode. It is extremely unlikely that Lily Merrelk would have ever been on the roll serve on jury duty in the first place. Women didn't get the right to vote until 1920 and even with that, didn't routinely serve on juries until the 1930s. Women were not allowed to serve on juries at all untill 1898 were routinely exempt . I'm not quite certain when this LAWMAN episode was supposed to take place but I am reasonably sure it was before 1898. Also, I do not think the judge would have proceeded with a single juor malec or female. He might have opted to judge on his own, but I doubt that would have been an option for a murder trial.
