Don Durant: Johnny Ringo

Quotes

  • [a six-year-old boy is testifying at the trial of man who allegedly killed his mother]

Prosceutor Bogan : I object, your honor! That young boy has been through enough.

Johnny Ringo, Sheriff : If he's old enough to hang a man, he's old enough to answer one more question in this trial.

  • Johnny Ringo, Sheriff : Did you recognize any of them?

Virgil Kincaid : All I saw were their fists, Ringo.

  • Johnny Ringo, Sheriff : Why did you come, Doc?

Dr. Homer Bardell : I do solemnly swear that into whatsoever house you shall enter it will be for the good of the sick to the utmost of your power.

    Johnny Ringo, Sheriff : Kincaid?

    Virgil Kincaid : Yeah?

Johnny Ringo, Sheriff : You better keep that gun handy. There may be some people in town that don't live by Doc's code.

  • [Ringo pulls a bullet from his gunbelt]

Johnny Ringo, Sheriff : Ever see one of these up close, Henry? Know what makes it work? This is the cap, the percussion cap. When struck by the firing pin, it explodes. The powder burns and forms powerful gases that force the slug out through the gun barrel at a very high velocity. Now if the gun is aimed right, it'll kill what it hits.

Henry Trask : Now what's all that supposed to mean?

Johnny Ringo, Sheriff : Kincaid - this town is priming him. He's being pushed and sooner or later he's going to explode.

Henry Trask : Now why are you telling me this? Where do I fit in?

Johnny Ringo, Sheriff : Somewhere between the firing pin and the percussion cap.

  • [last lines]

[a bounty hunter has brought in the real killer of Lorna Parrott]

Johnny Ringo, Sheriff : This cartridge held the bullet that put a hole in Virgil Kincaid. Anybody want it for a souvenir?
