Edith and Percy Thompson welcome in young man Frederick Bywaters, and it isn't long before she and Frederick begin an affair, and an idea to remove the third point in the triangle arose?.
Unlike the previous story, that of The Egyptian prince and his wife, this is quite a well known scandal. There are multiple references, even a website, fascinating reading.
It is such an interesting and shocking case, which of the two parties were to blame, had she seduced him, or he her? Those letters were so damning.
It seems as though Freddie had a definite feeling for Edith, trying to take the blame, and have her set free.
That final revelation was so bleak, no wonder it affected so many people at The Prison.
Well acted, Jacquetta May and Adam Bareham excellent as The Thompsons, a young Russell Boulter so good as Freddie.
8/10.
